Incident: Suffered flaps problem inbound to CEG so diverted to Liverpool John Lennon due to it having a longer runway.

Incident: Flight crew struck by laser from the ground while climbing out of LHR. Flight continued over Ireland before deciding to return. AW uploaded the audio edit from LiveATC.net, and it quickly went viral. It was already the top story on the next morning’s breakfast programmes and remained a major story all day, with interviews and questions posed from Government ministers to aviation experts.
